Acrylic on canvas
Framed: 46cm (W) x 56 cm (H)
Grebe beach holds some of my most treasured summer memories. Swimming out past the rocks, diving below the surface for scallops, and bringing handfuls back to shore to cook over a makeshift fire on the pebbles - the simplest of pleasures.
This painting was inspired by those sun-baked afternoons when the tide is right and the visibility is strong. Beneath the surface, the water comes alive - small flickers of luminescence catching between the seaweed, seagrass and scallops below, fleeting and magical.
Sunlit layers dissolve into the earthy ocean floor tones, alive with movement and depth.
