‘Mylor Morning Tide’

Mylor Harbour is a very special place to me. Since moving to the south coast of Cornwall a few years ago, I’ve spent many early mornings walking along the coastal path towards Flushing, and many evenings sailing out of the harbour for weekly racing or cruising with friends.
This painting encapsulates these quiet, peaceful mornings, when the tide is nearing high tide and the shifting coastal light creates layers of translucent, organic shapes just below the surface of the water.
Seafoam greens, sandy ochres, soft blues, and warm neutral tones emulate subtle currents and reflections, while creating a sense of depth, calm, and tranquillity.
