‘Durgan Drift’
Acrylic on canvas
Framed: 46cm (W) x 56 cm (H)
Durgan is a place I know from the water. Sailing past on the Helford, it has a way of drawing the eye - a small, unhurried village tucked into the shoreline.
This painting was born from those hazy days on the river, when the light softens and the world seems to slow. The kind of afternoon where you let the sail drop, and simply drift for a few moments.
Muted, earthy tones are layered softly across the canvas, emulating the calm that comes when sea and shore blur gently into one another.
'Durgan Drift' is a painting about the particular warmth of a familiar place seen from the water, and the peaceful feeling of a summer afternoon that refuses to end.
